History
1984 Sakai Chemical (then Sakai Chemical) begins exports to Australia via ITOCHU Corporation.
1990 Establishment of Sakai/CIC (Australia) as a joint venture with ITOCHU Corporation and start of stock sales of flux for continuous casting.
1994 Sakai/CIC begins local production of columnar granule type flux for continuous casting.
2004 Start of local production of spherical granule type flux for continuous casting at Sakai/CIC.
2011 BSL, a major customer, suspends the operation of one of its blast furnaces, resulting in a 50% decrease in sales.
